About Courtney

Hey! My name’s Courtney. I’m a Los Angeles-based social media marketer and digital marketing specialist with a passion for visual storytelling. When I moved to Los Angeles from Northern California 7 years ago, I began my first career as a private school educator. As you can imagine, being a teacher was a truly rewarding experience and I absolutely loved working with children.  However, one of my favorite perks of teaching was (you may have guessed it) – all of the the incredible holiday breaks that I made sure to take full advantage of! I love traveling, indulging in new cultural experiences, and creating lasting memories with my family and friends all around the world. My love of travel is actually what sparked my initial interest in a career change.

So when did I end up changing careers? When the pandemic hit and we switched to virtual teaching, I found that I was one of the few teachers at my school who actually enjoyed teaching online. I loved being able to utilize online technology, design my own graphics and create video content to engage my students. Teaching online opened the door for me to utilize my love of graphic design while connecting with students in creative new ways.

As the school year came to a close, I made the hard decision to end my teaching career, and go back to school to pursue my Digital Marketing passion. Since then, I officially earned my Marketing with Concentration in Digital Marketing certificate through UCLA Extension. I have also spent the past 3 years as a freelance Social Media Marketer, and I have had the pleasure of working with a variety of clients, ranging from the event industry to the beauty industry. I am so excited to see where my journey as a Digital Marketing Specialist takes me!
