- Where to stay:
- Cayman Villas
- Activities:
- Snorkel the Great Barrier Reef: Snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef is a must while in Australia. Wavelength Snorkel Tours takes you to three incredible snorkel spots in the outer reef, where the coral is healthy and the fish are vibrant. It truly felt as if I was snorkeling on the set of Finding Nemo! Here are a few more details from our Wavelength snorkel trip that you may find helpful…
- Wavelength has several tour boats to pick from. We chose the smaller tour boat, Wavelength 3, which only holds 30 guests. This made for a much more personal and private snorkel experience. Their other boat, Wavelength 4, holds 48 passengers.
- During winter, the water tends to be chillier than you may expect, so Wavelength provides you with a wetsuit for snorkeling.
- Bring a change of clothes to change into after the last snorkel stop. You won’t regret having a warm sweatshirt to put on!
- Take seasickness medication prior to disembarking on the boat. Wavelength provides medication if you forget your own. The wave swells on our boat ride were up to six feet! A few people on our boat had gotten sick, so I really thanked myself for taking medication.
- Bring an underwater camera/ GoPro. There are so many opportunities for pictures of the amazing fish and coral in the reef. I even had a chance to take a few selfies with some sea turtles!
- Wavelength provides a hearty deli-style lunch midway through the trip!
